Funding Source and Objective
Government of Germany is the funding source aimed to adapt the agriculture and food systems to conditions of water scarcity, climate change and increased competition between users through a strengthened focus on water governance for agriculture and food security by strengthening capacities of national water experts and farmers in Sri Lanka on water resources assessment, under the project GCP/GLO/907/GER Knowing water better: Towards fairer and more sustainable access to natural resources for greater food security (KnoWat). The project is implemented with the collaboration of the Department of Irrigation in Sri Lanka together with Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (FAO).

Contract Objective
The main objective of the said project is to strengthen water governance and management processes to address water scarcity and increased competition for water resources. This project includes an exercise on water accounting and auditing for Malwathu Oya West Sub Catchment.
Final Output
Final output of this assignment is to procure technical services to Support for the provision of technical and administration services to undertake comprehensive water accounting and auditing assessment including analysis of different agricultural development scenarios under climate change in selected Malwathu Oya West Sub Catchment in Anuradhapura District.
