Contract Objective

The main objective of this assignment is to find the most appropriate locations with geographical details for the proposed automatic river gauges considering hydro-meteorological requirements of the country.

• Contract Period : February 2025 to June 2025

Final Output

The final objective of the assignment is to establish 150 new automated river gauging stations in the 27 river basins. In addition, it is proposed to establish 150 new automated Rainfall stations around the selected river gauging stations as per the requirement of the Client. The selected new locations with the existing river gauging stations will provide ID to give reliable data for flood forecasting and dissemination of the data to the general public and water institutions in Sri Lanka and for the Disaster Management Center for the organization of flood relief to the affected people in the 27 river basins selected.
