Contract Objective

The objective of the assignment is to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the Samanalawewa dam beak, prepare accurate inundation maps, an early warning system and an evacuation plan.

• Contract Period : April 2025 to August 2025

Final Output

The assignment is for undertaking existing condition assessment, hydrological and hydraulic assessment to check the spillway capacity and the dam embankment overtopping possibility and develop downstream inundation maps in the case of dam failure along with preparation of an Emergency Response Plan, with an awareness program to stakeholders involved along with capacity development of about 10 engineers attached to CEB. Finally, to hand over the all-output reports to the Client on completion of the assignment within 4 months.
