The agreement between UNDP and Infotechs IDEAS was signed on February 2018 at Colombo.
In order to address the climate change adaption issues, the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment (MMDE) with assistant of United Nations Development Program in collaboration with the Department of National Planning (NPD) under the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to implement a 7 year project from 2017-2024 aimed at strengthening the resilience of Smallholder farmers in the Dry Zone to climate variability and extreme events. The project will directly benefit 750,000 people living in the area directly through investments in irrigation, drinking water and disaster risk management and further 770,000 people with indirect benefits from the project interventions in capacities and early warning systems.
Infotechs IDEAS as the consultancy firm is responsible in providing services for surveys and designs, construction supervision and quality assurance and managing defect liability period in selected Village Irrigation Systems (VIS) in Thudduvaikulam Cascade in Vavuniya/Anuradharapura District.
The project period is from February 2018 to December 2019, which consist of 3 Phases. Presently around 20% of the work on this assignment has been completed.
